Medicaid Policy
Effective Date: September 1, 2022
1. A person must be under the age of 65 to enroll in UPP.
a. An applicant is not eligible if the application date is on or after the 65th birthday.
b. Members can be eligible through the end of the month of their 65th birthday.
2. A child must be under the age of nineteen to qualify as a dependent child on UPP.
a. A child must be under 19 years of age sometime during the application month to enroll in UPP.
· An otherwise eligible child who is turning age 19 in the application month may receive UPP for the application month.
b. When a child who is enroll in UPP turns 19 years old, the month in which the child’s nineteenth birthday occurs is the last month of eligibility.
· Determine eligibility for other medical assistance programs, such as Adult Expansion, before closing UPP.
· Using the parent or guardian signature, open a new Medicaid program.
· Request a new signature page, and
· Narrate where the parent or guardian signature can be found.
