330 Protected Medicaid Groups for Former SSI Recipients

Previous Policy

Determine if the individual fits into a protected group for Medicaid whenever the individual has lost or loses an SSI benefit. Members who meet the eligibility criteria specific to the protected groups listed below may continue to receive Medicaid without a spenddown.  

• Disabled Adult Child (DAC)

• Receives an SSI payment

• Pickle Amendment

• 1619(b)

• Disabled Widows and Widowers
