343-3 Good Cause For No Earnings - 12 Month Transitional Medicaid

If the parent or caretaker relative has no earnings in one or more of the 3 months determine if there was good cause. 

 

Examples of good cause for no earnings:

• The parent or caretaker relative was employed in the month but didn’t get paid until the next month.
• The parent or caretaker relative had an involuntary loss of employment.  Good cause under this condition is not time limited.
• The parent or caretaker relative or family member was ill.
• There was a death in the family.
• An eligibility agency supervisor decides that the parent had good cause for no earnings for other reasons.

If good cause exists, complete the review. Eligibility may continue if the member's income after child care expenses does not exceed 185% of the FPL. .
