404-6 Family Medically Needy Joint Custody and Temporary Absence

A.   Joint Custody

Follow the policy found in 401-4 to determine how to apply policy for joint custody situations.

 

B.   Temporary Absence for Family Medically Needy Programs

Follow the policy found in 401-4 to determine how to apply policy for temporary absence situations.

1.       Individuals in institutions:

a.   An incarcerated individual in a public institution such as a jail or prison may be considered a member of the household.

b.    See 215-6 if an incarcerated individual is admitted to a medical hospital for an inpatient stay.

c.    An individual court-ordered to do community service and allowed to live at home is considered absent from the home for deprivation of support purposes. The person is not an inmate of a public institution.
