521-31 Federal Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance

Exclude as a resource, funds received under the Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, or other assistance provided under a federal statute because of a catastrophe which is declared to be a major disaster by the President of the United States.  Exclude interest earned on these funds from both income and resources.  Also exclude funds received from a State or local government, or disaster assistance organization, when paid to an individual due to a major disaster which has been declared such by the President.
