This section explains the Medicaid eligibility rules for counting or excluding pre-need funeral contracts.  

We have used several other names in the past for pre-need funeral contracts, including:

• prepaid or pre-need burial contracts

• prepaid or pre-need funeral plans

• prepaid or pre-need burial or funeral arrangements

In this section, we use pre-need funeral contract instead of the other names.
