To be eligible for Utah Medicaid, a person must be a Utah resident.  An individual is a Utah resident if voluntarily living in the State and meets one of the following two criteria:

  1. Intends to make a home here indefinitely and not for a temporary purpose,

OR

  1. Entered Utah with a job commitment or to seek employment, whether or not he is currently working, and is not receiving assistance from another state.  In this instance, minor children are Utah residents if their caretaker is a Utah resident.  When someone has just moved to Utah, see Sec. 207-6.
